O~Delecto Sandwiches

Photo by Rachel Narins of CWK

Selling on La Cienega and Melrose on Tuesday!  Taking a little break to go to New Orleans for  Thanksgiving but that means Cajun food! And that means Muffalettas with real NOLA olive spread when I return.  If you live in LA, make sure you get one!

My favorite comment today was from David the French guy from the Pull-In store who said he loved the bread!  A Frenchman loved my bread!  I am so proud!  Cute undies they got too.

Random Deliciousness

Here's a smattering of recent dishes that I forgot to photograph until they were finished or mostly finished.

Hey! This might be the beginning of me taking requests. If you want to know how to make one, let me know!

This is a coconut sweet potato soup with a coconut maple drizzle and mint.

Salad Nicoise

Click on this photo to see it BIG!
My all time favorite salad meal.  If it weren't for mercury in tuna, I would eat this twice a week!

This one had fingerling, peruvian purple and baby red potatoes from Wieser Family Farms. My new farmer friend. So good.  I only wish everyone else wanted anchovies in theirs.  Had to put 'em on the side. Again.

Banana Bread Part Deux

I needed a solution to the I hate nuts-I love nuts conundrum.  This cake is sooooooo delicious with pecans inside it was hard for me to let them go, but I was bringing it to my friend's dinner and she hates nuts in baked goods. So I decided on nuts as decoration.  To be honest it tastes better in the batter and I'll go back to pecans as soon as the next opportunity grabs me. But isn't this pretty?

Bachelor Chow

This is just ground turkey sauteed with spices, onions, tomatoes, whatever. It's supposed to be our super easy cheap go-to dinner that will also make perfect lunch the next day.  But we almost always finish it. And it makes Phinny jump up and down if he hears it is for dinner.

I'm into long veggies. They are slightly more inconvenient to  toss around in a pan, but they look so much cooler on the plate. These are zucchini, carrots and fennel. Yum fennel.

Coming soon...Can an untrained caterer feed 300 people with $400 and a staff of unpaid amatures?  Jesus I freakin' hope so, 'cause we're doing it on Saturday.

Banana Bread Baby!

Oh! I am so excited! For two reasons. One: I have finally figured out how to post pictures on this blog. And, naturally, two, would be that after much perfecting this banana bread is the bomb! It's almost like banana bread brownies.

It is fabulously moist and sticky (which is how I prefer my banana bread) and I think maybe not too bad for you, if you don't eat the entire bread in 24 hours.

Which we did.

Submarine Sandwiches

Now, Good Readers, who've come to depend on my semi-annual musings of the culinary variety, I don't want you to fret (I'm talking to you Mom) I will keep on posting, hopefully more often. And I will figure out what it is that other bloggers do that get them followings and sponsorships and tv show offers, and, well, at least one reader.

But in the meantime let's talk about sandwiches. Now, I know that you all out there are just screaming at your screens right now (insert cricket mp3). But Andrea! Who needs recipes and advice on sandwich making!? Well, I'm here to tell you that really everyone does.
